Alison Wurzel is the founder and CEO of That Research Lady, LLC. Originally from the DC Metro area, she has over a decade of experience in market and social research. She has led many recruitment and data collection efforts for a variety of clients, including several Federal agencies. These efforts include focus group and other qualitative research, usability testing, cognitive testing, complex participant recruitment, and mixed mode survey research.
She has managed complex field efforts including national interview coordination for the IRS as well as national focus group coordination for the U.S. Coast Guard and Hostelling International USA. Alison also managed the recruitment and interviewing effort for a large, international usability study to inform website redesign for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission
Beyond field services, Alison has also performed qualitative data analysis of Spanish and English language cognitive interviews for several federal clients, and managed Spanish-language translation and data collection efforts, for clients including the U.S. Census and the National Cancer Institute.
These collaborations allowed her to gain valuable experience using the TRAPD team translation model, a rigorous method used by several government agencies to ensure translated versions of materials are clear and easy to understand.
Ms. Wurzel has specific experience with conducting outreach and recruitment of special and often hard-to-reach populations such as children, executives, members of ethnic minority populations, the LGBTQ+ community, disabled individuals, recipients of public assistance and benefits, individuals with chronic health conditions, audiences with high-risk of substance abuse, and those representing low-income categories, among others.
Alison’s areas of expertise include project management, multilingual studies and survey methods. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Loyola University in Maryland, and is fluent in both English and Spanish. She is a member of the Qualitative Research Consultants Association (QRCA).
